Why is BMI Important for Competitive Exams?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a key metric used to assess a candidate’s physical fitness. For many government posts, especially in defence and police, meeting the specified height and weight criteria is mandatory. Being within the prescribed BMI range is crucial for clearing physical tests and can prevent disqualification.
Understanding Your Results
The calculator provides a clear “Eligible” or “Not Eligible” status based on the following criteria:
- Standard Ideal Range: This is calculated based on the healthy BMI range
- Eligible Range (with ±5kg relaxation): This is the most crucial part for aspirants. Many exams provide a relaxation of up to 5 kg on either side of the ideal weight. Our calculator automatically includes this to give you a realistic picture of your eligibility.
